Starred restaurant with suites in the polder
De Kromme Watergang
Two suites, one family and an awful lot of polder.

From our diary
Dining and staying at De Kromme Watergang
A workman's cottage from 1910, done up, with a mezzanine and a covered terrace. That's Suite Blanche, and it stands right next to the restaurant. There's nowhere else to sleep on site, and we rather like that: you're a guest of a family here, not of a hotel.
Edwin and Blanche Vinke opened De Kromme Watergang in 1993 in the hamlet of Slijkplaat near Hoofdplaat. These days the second generation runs it. Their son Tom is the chef and their daughter Evie runs the business. Tom cooks with fish from the Oosterschelde and the North Sea and with vegetables from De Zilte Hof, the family's own garden beside the restaurant. Supply lines hardly get shorter than that. Since September 2024 there's also De Kromme Bistro, for a more relaxed evening. The second suite, Zeesuite 11, is in the marina at Breskens. It's only available in high season, with a pick-up and drop-off service.
Good to know
There's only one suite next to the restaurant, and the other is in Breskens and only open in high season, so book well ahead.
