Canal-side boutique hotel with two-star restaurant
The Dylan Amsterdam
Dinner in an old bakery, a bed on the Keizersgracht.

From our diary
Dining and staying at The Dylan Amsterdam
When people ask us where to eat well in Amsterdam and then stay the night, this is often our answer. Restaurant Vinkeles is in the eighteenth-century bakery of a former Catholic almshouse, and the old bread oven is still on show. Chef Jurgen van der Zalm was sous-chef here before, so he knows the house from the inside. He builds his cooking on top produce and deep sauces, and we're always up for a deep sauce.
The Dylan sits at Keizersgracht 384, in the middle of the Nine Streets, and belongs to The Leading Hotels of the World. Rooms and suites come in four styles: Loxura, Amber, Serendipity and Loft. Bar Brasserie OCCO is open all day and does, among other things, a High Wine for anyone who can't wait until dinner. For an Amsterdam evening that doesn't have to end in a taxi, it's our standing tip.
Good to know
You're sleeping in the heart of the canal ring, so if you're after the quiet of a country estate, this isn't it.
