City hotel in a listed building with starred restaurant
ML
At the Chef's Bar you're practically in the kitchen.

From our diary
Dining and staying at ML
All seventeen rooms and suites have a Hästens bed. We start there, because after an evening at the table that's what matters. ML is on the Klokhuisplein in Haarlem, since 2018 in a listed building on the former site of the Joh. Enschedé printing works. The period room from the Enschedé family's house is still part of it.
Mark and Liane Gratama own the place. Mark cooks modern French food with a playful streak, with sauces and broths that lean towards Asia. At the Chef's Bar you sit with your nose over the open kitchen, which is exactly where we like to be. If you want to take it easier, Bistro ML and Bar Nous are in the same building. So you needn't step outside all evening. If you'd rather have a sprawling estate around you, choose somewhere else. A town square suits us just fine.
Good to know
If you want to watch the kitchen, ask specifically for a seat at the Chef's Bar when you book.
