Château hotel on a former convent estate with restaurants and spa
Château St. Gerlach
Staying where a monastery began in 1201, then off to the spa.

Dining and staying at Château St. Gerlach
This isn't a small place, and it doesn't need to be. St. Gerlach is an estate with room to breathe, and the spa comes with your room. After a long dinner, that sounds rather good to us.
The story starts in 1201. Gosewijn IV of Valkenburg founded a monastery here by the grave of the hermit Gerlachus, and from 1345 it was a convent for noblewomen. The last resident left the estate to the municipality in 1979, after which it fell into disrepair. Camille Oostwegel Sr. had it restored and the hotel opened in 1997. It's a member of Relais & Châteaux.
You can dine at Restaurant Les Salons or at the bistro Burgemeester Quicx in the old farmstead, and there's the Lobby Bar for a nightcap. It remains a big house, with business guests in the mix. If you want something intimate, look elsewhere. If you want a classic country-house hotel, you'll be well looked after here.
Good to know
With eleven meeting rooms it's a business venue too, so you may share the estate with conference guests.
