Country house hotel with restaurant
Landhuishotel & Restaurant Rikus
Named after the last farmer on the land. A lovely start.

From our diary
Dining and staying at Landhuishotel & Restaurant Rikus
Ten rooms, including a family room and an apartment. Rikus is a country house hotel of the quiet kind, in a 1922 farmhouse in Eext. It's named after Rikus Buiter, the last farmer on the land, and it has been a hotel with a restaurant since 2015. It's a sister business of De Jufferen Lunsingh.
Around the farmhouse lie more than four hectares of its own land: a vegetable garden, two hectares of woodland and open fields. The kitchen prefers to cook organic and puts the garden's vegetables centre stage. The website doesn't say who the chef is, and frankly we find that rather endearing: the plate has to do the talking. Lunch and dinner are served Wednesday to Sunday. We see it as a place for a long walk, an afternoon of doing nothing and then dinner. Not for anyone after a grand dining room and plenty of theatre.
Good to know
The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the family room means the children can come too.
